Transfer Information

Transferring from Another League to JLD?

We are excited that you will be joining the Junior League of Denver! Once you have completed your transfer, you will be placed on our Transfer Committee as an Active member. Our Transfer Class can be anywhere from 20-30 women. This placement is for your first full year beginning in August so you can meet like-minded women who are also are brand new to our Denver chapter. If transferring between June 1 through December 15, you will be placed on this committee for the upcoming League year. However, if we receive your transfer information after December 15, your membership will be placed on a holdover status and you will not begin until the following summer.

Moving to Denver and Interested in Transferring Your Membership:

  • You must be in good standing with your League, meaning you are an Active or Sustainer member who has paid all their dues and has met all credit requirements for the year. After transferring, if you are due a refund, please work with that League to arrange a refund as each Junior League is independent of the other.
  • Notify your current Junior League of your desire to transfer. We recommend reaching out to someone in Membership, as every League’s procedure is different. They will notify us of your intent to transfer into the JLD and we will reach out with important information to start the transfer process. *This can take several weeks, so please start sooner than later.*
  • Once accepted, you will receive a “Welcome Email” from our Transfer Chairs, which contains your membership dues amount and other details to complete the transfer process. Please schedule your payment (in full or monthly installments) to be officially added to the JLD roster.

Transferring Out-of-State to Another Junior League?

We hate to see you go, but wish you the best of luck! Thank you so much for being such a great part of the Junior League of Denver and for all you have done to serve our community. Before you can transfer to another Junior League, you must first be in good-standing, which means your dues have been paid and your obligations have been met for the year.

Important Steps to Transfer Out:

  • Before submitting a transfer request, establish your new address to ensure your new League can contact you. Also provide a phone number and/or email address to reach you.
  • Please visit the Association of Junior Leagues, International (AJLI) website to locate a Junior League in your new area or use the “Find a League Near You” page.
  • To initiate the transfer process, notify your current placement chair and inform them that you will be moving.
  • If you have resigned from the Junior League of Denver and would like to transfer to another League, you must first reinstate your membership with the JLD. Please contact us to reinstate your membership today!

Once Your Transfer is Complete:

  • Note: Since each League is independent, funds cannot be transferred between Leagues.
  • After your transfer is complete, you will receive an automated email confirming your processed transfer and your new League should touch base with you shortly.
  • Please respond quickly to all communications from your new Junior League as we don’t want you to miss important deadlines from required forms, dues/transfer fees, training opportunities and placements to complete your transfer.
